Merced County
With a population of 232,100 Merced County is located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley in Central California and is one of the Nation's top agricultural centers. At the same time, Merced County is the home of the newly developing University of California Merced.
Merced County occupies approximately 1.929 square miles spanning from the coastal ranges to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and approximately ninety minutes from Yosemite National Forest.
The County is comprised of six incorporated cities; Merced, Atwater, Livingston, Los Banos, Gustine and Dos Palos. We have eleven communities; Snelling, Santa Nella, Winton, Delhi, Le Grand, Stevinson, Ingomar, Volta, El Nido, Plainsburg and Tuttle.
With the combination of climate, resources, points of interest and ethnic diversity, Merced County provides a solid economic environment as well as a vital and exciting area to live, work and play. Additionally, Merced County has been selected as the site for the 10th campus for the University of California Educational System.
